Aston Villa don join big European teams after dem beat Feyenoord 2-0 for Europa League on Thursday. Second half goals from Emiliano Buendia and John McGinn give Unai Emery boys another win for the group stage, after last week 1-0 win against Bologna.

Even though Robin van Persie team play well and deserve more, Villa still collect full three points against the Dutch league leaders wey never lose domestic match this season.

With the win, Villa now dey among seven clubs wey get perfect record for Europa League after two matches. But Emery boys still do pass that one as dem add another history for themselves.

Villa pass Premier League clubs, challenge European giants

According to Opta, Villa victory na their 16th win for Europe since 2023/24 season. That one mean say dem don pass all other Premier League clubs for European wins inside that time.

The only clubs wey still dey ahead of Villa na Real Madrid (19 wins), PSG (18 wins) and Bayern Munich (17 wins). Even though Villa record no reach those giants, e still big achievement because the English side don only enter Champions League once for the past three seasons, and before Emery, dem no play Europe for over ten years.

Whether dem fit carry the Europa League trophy under Emery — wey don already win am four times — na another matter. But with the way dem dey play, Villa dey push well to qualify straight for round of 16.

Villa form fit enter Premier League?

After dem start season with six matches without win across all competitions, Emery don ginger im team back to form.

Villa first league win come last weekend with 3-1 victory over Fulham, after five winless Premier League games against Newcastle, Brentford, Crystal Palace, Everton and Sunderland.

Add that Fulham match join the two Europa League wins, Villa now dey on three-game winning streak with three clean sheets against Bologna and Feyenoord. Signs dey show say the team don bounce back.

On Sunday, dem go face Burnley before international break, and Emery boys dey target their fourth straight win plus first back-to-back Premier League victories since last season when dem win three in a row before Manchester United stop dem on the final day.
