Chelsea don officially confirm say Enzo Maresca don leave him job as head coach, less than six months after him win the Club World Cup with the Blues.
The Italian, aged 45, leaves Stamford Bridge following a poor run where the team don only win one of their last seven Premier League games, including a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
Maresca skip press conference after the Bournemouth clash citing illness, but sources talk say growing tension with senior figures for club made him position impossible to continue.
During him time, Chelsea finish fourth in the Premier League last season and also won the Conference League. Maresca even guided the club to Club World Cup glory last summer, beating Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain in the final.
Currently, Chelsea dey fifth in the Premier League, just two points behind fourth-placed Liverpool, and 13th in the overall Champions League table.

The club release official statement: “Chelsea Football Club and Head Coach Enzo Maresca have parted company. During his time at the Club, Enzo led the team to success in the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup. Those achievements will remain an important part of the Club’s recent history, and we thank him for his contributions to the Club. With key objectives still to play for across four competitions including qualification for Champions League football, Enzo and the Club believe a change gives the team the best chance of getting the season back on track. We wish Enzo well for the future.”
Liam Rosenior Emerges Favourite to Take Over
Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior dey now the clear favourite to replace Maresca. The 41-year-old don impress Chelsea senior figures with him work at Strasbourg, a club wey also dey part of BlueCo consortium led by Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter, and Hansjorg Wyss. Rosenior don manage Strasbourg since 2024, recording 31 wins, 14 draws, and 17 losses from 62 matches at the helm.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano tweet: “Chelsea will appoint new manager very soon, not gonna take weeks or long time. The club is now working on it. Liam Rosenior, highly rated internally after excellent job at Strasbourg as he’s among contenders. Decision to be made in days, won’t take long.”
Other names also linked to Stamford Bridge include Crystal Palace head coach Oliver Glasner, whose contract go expire at the end of the season, and Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola.
